Thanks for the funny! Reposted at http://iamhilarious.com/there-i-fixed-it/
hmmmm looks like a jeep bay,im guessing a TJ or a YJ,looks like a trail fix,it will work till youir able to get to a auto parts store to replace the piping that was broken or lost.
I don’t know looks like it may by a Toyota FJ Cruiser, probably right about the trail fix though
but you have to wonder… how, exactly, do you lose an intake tube???
ya’ll take all the fun out of imagining some crazy awesome story …
Once you pop, you can’t stop?
or in this case;
once it pops, you better stop!
In my student days managed to hold together an exhaust pipe using two of these ‘jubilee’ clips and the metal side-walls of a quart oil can.
Lasted two months or so but you could get away with this 40 years ago!
The tubing is also missing from the PCV Valve, I guess that would have gone into the intake tubing where the can is. Look just below the face on the pringles can. Also, who happens to have brand new shiny hose clamps on the trail?
Gideon’s got a pipe made from a Pringles can.
All the car/jeep needs now is a sticker on the back:
Powered by Pringles
A great way to sneak snacks into the drive-in.
That was my first thought too, it looks exactly like a Jeep 4.0L (could be the 2.5L though I guess) engine with one of those aftermarket cone-type intake filters that mounts on the “wrong” side of the engine bay.
A lot of Jeepers I know (mostly NAXJA guys) take way too many spare parts with them on the trail. I would have no trouble believing that at least one of them has a new hose clamp or two.
Awww, poor Pringles Man looks sad to be attached to the engine!
A Hold Steady reference!!!!
I approve of you as a human
Pringles make the world go round.
In this case,
Pringles make your wheels go round.
I LYKE PRINGLES!
Wise choice going with Original Pringles- Salt & Vinegar really corrodes the engine.
Jalapeno however would increase gas octane up by 2 points.
@allaroundcarfan
Its the chryco 242 so its a jeep of some kind. My XJ has that engine and so do YJs and TJs.
I garauntee that its a jeep 4.0L and i bet anything its a TJ or XJ. the YJ’s filter it on the the same side as the Throttle Body. My TJ crosses over just the same. and the 2.4L runs the intake a completely different way. But it IS def a JEEP. Toyota is way off dude sorry.
So does that mean Sour Cream and Onion are out? x:
mmm…would this also work thenext time I blow up my radiator hose???
(^o^)
haha i can’t believe someone actually did that, think it will work for that long?
this isint a fire hazaed at all
It is a TJ
It cooks the pringles while you drive.
@jeepfan
you just have to ruin it…..
Whatever works, I guess. what you need to do is put a speaker in the pringles can. Like either at the base or at the top, just to get that echo.
Damn, I want to do that now
I wonder if this machine fix could stand at high speed
That’s a crazy lot to go thru JUST to get your car to have that Pringles-fresh smell!
hey i have that same engine, though mine is in the cherokee and not the wrangler… you can tell its a wrangler by the hood hinges and the a/c lines. i will keep this in mind if i EVER lose my intake will off roading or driving down the street… lol
Please make sure your mechanic is ASA approved.
