But, hey — I don’t need extra lighting on my balcony!
They just need to widen the holes and it doubles as a fire escape.
Dang…so the door must open directly onto the busy street. Is the sidewalk taken too?
I love how they didn’t notice until too late, I mean seriously while your building your kinda gunna notice these things… I hope
It’s an emergency sliding pole
@Raptor Jesus….the same way I would kinda notice that your grammar is a bit…a bit odd.
At least you’re saving space!
Patio with a fire pole escape think safety first
The opposite of heavy construction.
good for hanging laundry, tying up small children pets, getting in when you locked yourself out…
aw. html fail.
good architects are rare, or not?
*facepalm*
i want a fireman pole like this to get out the streets fast and easy, and no going down ladders
that fireman pole is gonna hurt when you get down to that speed sign just below the balconies.
That’ll keep the building in place!
Last one we built just sailed away…
Each patio comes with a stripper pole and an exotic dancer.
I would make a comment about Pole-ish engineering, but that would be culturally insensitive.
To help prevent burglaries, please remember to grease the pole on a daily basis.
this is what happens when you hire mr. magoo for your construction projects.
This is the true definition of a work-around!
Perhaps this was purposely designed this way as an artistic statement? There ARE places that don’t have the boring, boxy, everything’s-the-same style of architectural design that plagues America.
We could talk about what they did on the fourth floor… but that’s a different story.
At least changing the light bulb will be convenient.
hey it’s in Morocco
No, it’s in Tordera, a village in Spain… I live quite near from it…
It must be a red lampion and a public house – imagine the advertising effect of balcony nude dances on a pole under the red light…
@Sean Now _that’s_ how to sell an apartment!
Bruce Wayne lives on the third floor and that’s the “secret” pole that leads into the Batcave.
The add: Friendly neighborhood, two nice bedrooms, excelent lighting and a pole to hang a plant, or a prostitute… as you wish.
“oh crap. you wanna just attach the light to the roof?”
“naaah”
“Is that inches or centimeters?…Oh well, 6 of one, 15.24 of the other.”
@Jeez
that’s what she said!
@lehcyfer
hm… either this or (I think this is more probable:
a) Bruce Wayne’s secret hideout with his redneck fireman-pole leading right into the batcave or
b) the backside of the bar where special agent 69 works (codename Stripperella!!)
If you don’t like this comment… then plz ask yourself: “WTF did I read this??”
It becomes a real pain and requires much more thought out designs of new buildings when the gov’t decided lamposts could class as “Listed buildings”
yes, you could make a comment about ‘pole-ish engineering’ but it would be racist and not at all funny.
@ rafael de bono:
So Polish people are a different race altogether?
Please state your ethnic background:
Caucasian, Black African, Polish……..
That’s actually in Romania, and that’s an gipsy palace. It’s not an error, it’s intended to be as large as possible, even on public domain. For more craps like this search palate tiganesti (gipsy palaces in romanian) http://images.google.com/images?q=palate%20tiganesti .
@The Brain
As Yoda stated, it’s gypsy palace in Romania. We don’t do such things. Building regulations in Poland are pretty strict. Unless there is some gypsy palace in Poland (yes, unfortunately we have some of them in our country, too), you won’t find such architectural hidiosity.
And if you want a piece of polish decent modern architecture(internationally awarded), type in google graphic search “stary browar”
http://images.google.pl/images?hl=pl&q=stary+browar&btnG=Szukaj+obraz%C3%B3w&gbv=2&aq=f&oq=
You should know the pic was taken in a village called Tordera, in a zone of Spain (near Barcelona) where people have their (our) own language and the people living there are Catalan… And the rest of Spaniards call Catalan people “Polish”… So, it’s a building for South Polish people…
@rafael de bono
it would be hilarious!
All the effort to build around the pole, no effort to build sides or railings onto these balconies…I’m speechless.
What the hell are you all talking about ?
we meant to build it like that
@The Brain
yeah, you’re definitely better
This picture is taken in Spain
tinha q ser no meu Brasil
This looks a lot like Brazil to me.
Actually, that photo was taken in a town named Tomelloso, in Spain.
My sister is an arckatect and she might do that one day?
i thin that architect engineer was drugged when he done it
amazing
Joe: Lets put the balcony on the other side.
Tom: No we’ll build around it. No one will ever notice.
How is that a fail?!?! You have the porch light AND a fire pole! EPIC WIN in my books! Cant remember a time when i didnt want a fire pole in my house….
Is anyone else oddly arroused by this?
This construction is in Caracal, Romania. This city( Caracal) have specific tradition in this constructions, There in broken police car
