  1. dono1 says:

Just doing a little light mowing…

  2. Doug says:

I live in the California desert where in the Summer, during the day, the temp is normally in the low 100′s, and I think this is actually not a bad idea, If you can’t illuminate the yard with a porch light for example. I also like the idea of a push-mower as to not wake the neighbors. I’d give this idea a 7 on a scale of 1 to 10.

  3. Daniel says:

At least this is a manual push mower and not a motor one. I lived next to this old gent who would mow his lawn at 3 in the morning. The tractor had lights already so he didn’t need to kludge that. The fix he needed was an umbrella to stop all the falling shoes.

  4. Evan says:

On the downside: your neighbors are tweakers
On the upside: at least they keep up with the yard

  5. Demetrius says:

The seldom seen “Johnny 4″ robot.

  6. hosebunny says:

…is that a generator duct taped to the rotary mower?

  7. dono1 says:

    World’s Most Productive Sleepwalker.

  8. Demetrius says:

Lovechild of Lawnmower Man and Luxo Jr.

  9. Stefan says:

hosebunny: I’m guessing that it’s a battery and AC inverter.

  10. Jim Marks says:

How to off-set your reel mower in one easy step. Geez.

Why not get two of those bike lights that scrubs kinetic off the tire to power the lamp and tweak them to fit each wheel a reel mower?

  11. Demetrius says:

    hosebunny :
…is that a generator duct taped to the rotary mower?

It looks like one of those things you use to jump start a car.

  12. Badgirl says:

Vampires like tidy lawns too ya know.

  13. Paddy says:

They should have gone all-out and made it self-propelled! And then make it autonomous, and program it to mow the lawn by itself!!!

  14. Ron says:

I had to have light otherwise I coudn’t get the lawn done.I push and push and push all day.

  15. Claudio says:

….são invenções como essa que faz despontar a tecnologia em todo o mundo…..

  16. Clyde says:

A push mower is definitely the quiet way to mow at night.

I’m sure the piece-a-crap HOA is behind this desperate move.

  17. Marius says:

I’m sure his neighbours love him.

  18. Fry says:

    That looks distrubingly like Wall-E…

  19. littleblack says:

Hope my mom doesn’t see this! She often does her gardening by floodlight, including pruning the grapevine. Crazy woman.

  20. Dan says:

I would so make an array of white LEDs and a solar charger for them. If you are gonna manually mow (without an engine, why not go all the way).

This is something I would expect to see on the show “Living with Ed”

  21. Paddy says:

    @Dan
Or put one of those chargers you see on bicycles, which gets power from the spinning wheel!

  22. D. says:

I’ve gotta hand it to him. I’ve given it some thought and, if you can’t afford an enclosed, air-conditioned garden tractor and you MUST mow at night, this is about the best cheap way. I’m still not letting this man near my vacuum cleaner though.

  23. JH says:

These pixies are just getting ever more sophisticated, aren’t they.

  24. KnightStryke says:

    @Fry
I hadn’t noticed till you mentioned it, but now hear “Woah!” in my head everytime I look at it.

  25. Elkian says:

…right up until you kick up a rock into the bulb…
