That seems pretty scary!
is it just me or does pic 1 look fake?…
Look on the bright side…the truck has suspension on the top and the bottom! If it flips, it will just bounce back!
pic 3 is the third Memphis, TN pic I’ve seen on “this here site”. Apparently, there are more rednecks and ‘other’ than I thought. lol
Looks like a storm coming in. Not so good for the big screen TV.
That big screen would “fall off” after the first stop sign in some neighborhoods.
At least there’s no one standing/sitting on top of the items…
That big screen TV looks like it’s in a heap of trouble. I hope they didn’t hit any bumps on the way home.
were i live there would be no “falling” about it… it’d be a one way trip to the moon…
Me and my dad did the trampoline thing. We got about 5 miles down the road on a feeder to the highway when a gust of wind ripped it off his headache rack and out on the pavement. Was the coolest thing I ever saw (i was following in a vehichle to make sure “nothing happened”). It flipped in the air a complete revolution before land. Took a sledehammer and ratchet straps to make it go back together. Still works til this day.
The first guy was just lazy. We had a trampoline and used to take it down every fall and put it back up every spring. It lasted a lot longer that way. They aren’t that difficult to take apart and put together, just time consuming.
The second guy is just NUTS! One sharp/wrong turn, and that tv is going to be on the pavement.
@one small step
Let’s see…”lazy” and “nuts”. That pretty much covers 95% of the content of this site. No argument on either of these, tho.
@Paddy lmfao!
@monkeyslayer56
“fall off” == “jacked by locals”
Top one is probably an improvised security device gone bad. I mean, if you’re going to steal a truck, why not pick the one that comes with the trampoline for free!
*facepalm* well my natral train of thought was something more to do with newtons laws…
To heck with that old air bag system, Chevy now comes with the new rebound technology as standard equipment.
“When it absolutely, positively has to be there before it would have been delivered.”
Brings me back to the days of trying to move a larger dresser by holding it, no ropes just hands out the window, to the top of a four door saturn ls. Yes we made it. No we weren’t stopped by police. And yes my hands hurt something terribly.
Pic #1 is at 39th and Noland in Independence, MO, which is where I live. Look at the Street View on Google Maps for that intersection, and notice the electric pole and the small yellow guard posts by Enterprise. The Street View was done a few years ago, before Nuts & Bolts was put in. Not sure if this commenting system allows URLs, but here goes:
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=39th+%26+Noland&sll=39.086535,-94.438036&sspn=0.012175,0.027637&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=E+39th+St+S+&ll=39.050113,-94.41513&spn=0.012181,0.027637&t=h&z=16&layer=c&cbll=39.050117,-94.415231&panoid=FwSfHIT2fo9IykI9kMRRKg&cbp=12,287.75,,0,7.45
The first looks real but I have doubts about the second. Maybe because the reflections look a little odd, or maybe because I don’t want to believe someone that stupid can afford a big screen TV and a car.
Who’s more stupid, the person with the bigscreen TV precariously perched in the trunk…or the person following so close (with the camera)?
“and you said we didn’t need bungee cords…”
They show us the front of the truck, but what we’re NOT seeing is the guys 13 year old son hanging on from the back.
The first one makes me recoil in fear but I think the second guy really gets the big picture.
I just REFUSE to believe that the second picture is REALLY what it seems.
Probably he was going to the junkyard. At least I hope!
Even if it were brand new, the packing box would still be too large for the back of the pickup truck. Though the chance are, it would still be in a thick polythene bag. The towels at the bottom would to be prevent the paintwork from being scratched.
@K
You just can’t see the poor (i.e. ’stupid’) bastards. Trust me, there is some moron lying down in the trunk & bed.
*Drum Roll*
And now, ladies and geeentlemen. Black Chevy the acrobate will now attempt his incredible performance: balancing a trampoline without getting busted.
I don’t really have a comment on picture 2. I just want to mention that I wanted to be near this car with a slingshot
The worst part of #2 is that he just took that huge, brand new TV out of its safely padded box so he could stuff it in his trunk. It must have cost hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars; is spending a little more to make sure it arrives in one piece that unreasonable!?
That has to be a 5000 dollar TV.
I don’t care what anyone says about the second pic.. I want that Tv…
‘Round my neck of the woods, that TV would be cracked already… because some jealous kid would hit it with a slingshot or something.
The guys kid was so addicted to his tramp that was the only way they could take him to the grandparents. (If you watch the pic for a while you will see him bounce)
@TheAntiCat
Or he/they already fell off.
1. “Alright guys, were almost there. Guys?”
2. “Hi Officer, how can I assist you?”
“Sir, I’m gonna have to shot you.”
I went Black Friday shopping last year at my son’s request and stopped by Wal-Mart on the way home. I can’t tell you how many people we saw in the parking lot with their new big screen tv’s and no idea how to transport them home.
The TV pic looks like somewhere in Houston. Why would you take a new TV out of the box though?
You are out of your mind. “extra $20 for delivery”??? My @ss! When i bought my last TV they had asked for another $120.00 for delivery. The hell with that, i did exactly what that guys did.
Dono, here I fixed it for ya:
“The first one makes me *bounce back* in fear but I think the second guy really gets the big picture.”
@Rampart
Good job! Now I’ll make another fix:
“The first one makes me *bounce back* in fear but I think the second guy is about to lose sight of the big picture.”
Dono1, you are a complete bastard. Please, take it as a huge compliment!
“Now where’s the damn tv remote…”
Attached to an anvil.
I can answer that one! About 8 years ago, we bought our first flat screen tv, a 27″ to fit our entertainment center. We got it into our SUV just fine, but I couldn’t help my husband get it into the house because of recent knee surgery. Instead of going to the barn and getting the dolly, he thought it would be easier to open the box in the car and carry the stupid thing into the house himself. He dropped the tv getting it out of the car and it cracked the case. Nice. It’s a man thing.
My bet is he bought it off Craigslist. Just cuz it’s big and shiny doesn’t mean it’s brand new.
Still stupid though.
@dono- Thanks! and nice 2nd fix!
@Shaftstack
I meant “fall off” onto a shopping cart or similar that just happens to roll in to someone else home.
If that was Memphis as mentioned above I doubt it made it home either way.
Emergency jumper truck. Just drive right up to the suicide jumpers chosen buildong.
Somewhere outta shot is his wife driving home with the accompanying massive DVD player…
And you should SEE the remote…
It’s how luxury goods are delivered in the recession era.
Home in time for the superbowl
