Something tells me the soap has some… “toxicity” issues…
It’s a bit too neat and professional for a kludge though aint it!
the precision and beauty of that cut makes it not only a great kludge but a total WIN! (make the same cut on the other handle, and no one would think it was other than a design element…)
It would, except for the cut parts being exposed to water and air, making them corrode much faster. Re-chroming the parts would defeat the kludge purpose.

Awesome job. Are we sure it is a kludge? It almost looks factory made. This bathroom just keeps getting more awesome. First the door around the toilet, then the door around the light switch. Now the faucet around the soap dispenser. I just cannot wait to see the toilet lid around the toilet paper dispenser.
don’t forget the shower curtain fit along the roofline.
Y’know, I’ve seen some bathrooms where this could help… over 2 dozen, actually.
The TIFI bathroom kludges have just been moved one notch higher.

Those soap dispensers never work anyway. Shold have just taken it off and left the faucet intact. And yes, this could be for ADA compliance.
I would have to agree with the people arguing if this is a kludge. It’s a very neat cut, and to be honest, I think I’ve seen this somewhere else before around town….
Definitely for ADA compliance (bathrooms have to have at least one sink that can be used by someone with limited hand/wrist ability). This looks to be a very expensive sink, and the only other alternative would have been to remove, and cap off (with an ugly cap) the soap dispenser.
WIN in my book.
I’m not sure what’s better, the terrible design at work here or the creativity of the solution.

I’m fine with it, as long as there isn’t one of the crappy foam dispensers on the wall above it.
Home Deport Quick Fix. I’ve seen worse with thier baby changing facilities.
It looks likes it’s trying to eat the soap dispenser.
