I didn’t know you could get leather from a duck.
So it’s a Duck leather couch.
I have a couch that I just love, it’s been with me through 3 states, 15 apartments. It’s the best sleep I’ve ever had. Unfortunately the cushions are dying and the fabric is split in far to many places. Since I can’t sew worth anything (Indeed I can’t even thread my sewing machine) I can see this being in the future of this couch. I just couldn’t bear the thought of replacing it. (friends won’t let me either)
Try finding an upholstery shop in your area that could refurbish it.
Probably could have traded all that duct tape for a new couch.
Are we sure this was a couch to begin with? I see plywood…
If this is an older couch the plywood may be needed for support. Could be taped to match, though. The workmanship (workpersonship) is neater than most kludges we see.
I’m wondering if this is a complete rebuild. The back rest also is plywood and underneath the plywood supporting the seat cushions, it looks like a shower curtain rod and seat belt material threaded through it, much like lawn chairs prior to those nasty single-piece plastic ones we now have.
I agree. This is kludge of love. A lot of attention to detail. I am also inclined to agree with Anna. This does look like more of a just duct tape over the holes fix and more like a complete rebuild.
As for the cost of the duct tape. Kludges exist because some people have access to a lot of something and none of something else.
This isn’t a kludge; it’s a win!
The first cushion was too happy, the second cushion: too sad. But the third cushion was just duct tape.
Win!
Ingenious. If you accidentally stain it, you just cover the stain with some duct tape.
cheap couch for sale:
Nice light look!
Looks like new!
Unbreakable!
Former used by cat-owners
Don’t try to have a pillow fight with those cushions, the feathers are stuck to the tape is my guess.
@g How exactly would you stain duck tape anyway?
*I* was going to ask that!!
will become all the rage across dorm common rooms everywhere
Duct tape is not cheap. No way this could cost less than a new couch at Ikea or something similar.
The deluxe version is made from Gaff tape.
i lost the game
New from IKEA. The Duct tape Chair!
No allen key required.
I won’t lie. I think that’s really freaking awesome.
Nice but it needs a throw woven from zip ties.
Mmmmm! That’d be nice and warm and toasty!
And pillows from former recyclables bags.
Lets your legs stick to the sofa for that genuine leather experience.
I was just thinking the same thing… only added residue… ewwww.
That is something I would do… i have a binder I just loved but when it fell apart I duck taped it
works better than ever
This is just silly. I can still see parts of the original couch.
A redneck leather couch.
For the person who wants to compliment their minimalist and industrial ‘look’, we bring you the Duouch. Sleek, simple and very modern.
DO WANT!
Dat’s for when dem Aliens land so’s dey can feel right at home!!
Does it come with a duct tape pull-out bed, too?
I’m sure they’ll get right on it.
I wonder how this kludger is going to replace the stuffing when it’s worn out?
with shredded up duct tape?
Too many cats in that house call the ASPCA.
me and my friends totally supports the ducky couch… as we often say: DuckTape can be used for anything, and if you can’t fix it with ducktape yopu just haven’t used enough’… we have yet to run ito something that couldn’t be fixed with ducktape
I actually like this….. it’s neat~!
Looks like a great way to water/child roof it. I used black electric tape to try to patch up my black vinyl couch. But it didn’t work too well. We finally got a new couch. :p
You put your children on the roof?
Well, with enough duct tape, you won’t have to worry about the child falling off
Note the fine craftsmanship and genuine corinthian Duct Tape. Perfect for your Man-Cave.
I’m thinking of how easy it will be to re-cover.
There’s been a similar fix some pages ago, so I rate this with a thumb down.
EPIC WIN!!! Duct Tape is awesome.
All I can think about is how badly that would rip out hair if you laid down or rested head near it.
When it said some assembly required, I never pictures a roll of duct tape as being part A.
Hey, Neil! I found you a couch!
OK i think that looks pretty cool…i just liek to use duct tape i guess XD
