There’s always a light at the end of the tunnel.

  2. littlepitcher says:

That’ll keep the opossums out of the ductwork!

  3. Daniel says:

First they stole my internet, then my AC, now my neon tubes?

  4. Oops… the same florescent tube lights in different rooms… ha ha…

  5. JB says:

If that’s a dorm light, I can imagine the fight at night…

  6. Fatty Dragon says:

Come on! Passage under the ceiling from one room to another? My cat would love that!

  7. RusFixer says:

Brilliant! I guess there are switches on both sides of the wall, so every day of people sharing this lamp goes like a day of Sam Lowrey in “Brazil”.

  8. Johnny says:

Well it is what I call “trick photography” It is not on the ceiling, it is on the floor, and it was just shoved into the heat vent to get it out of the way prior to installation on the ceiling. So at this point it is a floor lamp.

    • Anna Rexia says:

Something about the picture was bugging me. The fixture is at a weird angle, which doesn’t make sense if it’s mounted on the ceiling, but then neither would having a hole like that in the wall. Your explanation makes a lot more sense. Thank you!

    • Stoneshop says:

So, that cable running across the hole has a negative weight, and they had insufficient clips to keep it nailed to the floor?

      • Sue says:

I don’t think that’s a cable–I think it’s a sliver of shadow. It has a bump in it at the left corner that exactly matches the bump in the vent.

      • Sue says:

Oops. Now I see the cable you’re talking about. Sorry.

      • Johnny says:

Elementary dear Stoneshop, you see they painted the floor and wall at the same time, and got the paint on a bit too thick. The TV cable was running along where the baseboard should be, and the clips are to keep it out of the way so you don’t trip on it. Now the clincher: if it were the ceiling there would be spider webs…no spider webs!

      • ann says:

aw come on: a lack of spiderwebs proves trick photography?!? well then heck: I guess that means my whole apartment is actually upside down!

  9. scotts13 says:

I rented that place! A retail store in New Jersey, and the landlord subdivided the back room into a storeroom and an office!

  10. dono1 says:

On a highly-efficient HVAC system, this is the result of switching the thermostat’s fan speed from “Heavy” to “Light”.

  11. halfmadgenius says:

When the class rooms have to share lighting fixtures the budget cuts might have been a little to drastic.

  12. Lee says:

*singing* Youuuu, liiight up my liiiiiiife! *stops singing and steps off stage*
