Mobile home, mobile mailbox. Works for me. Instead of remembering to call the Post Office to stop delivery when you’re outta town, simply wheel your mailbox away.

The curse of the second comment– mostly the one that gets people into trouble, since so often it’s from someone saying, “First!” This is refreshing.
Next year they’ll come out with the Xtra-Secure model that has an add-on paper shredder installed between the in-slot and the garbage can.
I’d buy that! I’d also like an extra button that incinerates life-insurance and home-equity loan offers. Maybe coupled with a nice screaming sound effect. AAAIIIIEEEEEEE!! Rot in HELL, scum-sucking junk mail!!! BWAHAHAHA!!!
And swap it out for a blue recycling can instead of a brown trash can.

It’s probably not easy to get trash pick-up to take an old mailbox away, and I’ve never tried to mail a garbage can. Guess it’ll depend which truck goes by first before we know what’ll happen here.

It would be easier to mail it.
Yes. I put a sign on it that said “please take with other trash.” Someone other than the collectors picked it up and left the sign. One of the workers rang the bell, thinking that we’d discontinued service for some reason, and were asking them to take their can with them.
Actually, yes, though in my case the can was a wreck. I put it in the dumpster across the street.
What you don’t see is the shredder in between, providing security against identity theft.
I threw away an old mailbox and the attached chunk of cement at the bottom. I was somewhat pleasantly surprised they took it, given how poorly it fit inside
What you can’t see in the picture is the coin toss between the garbage man and the mail man to see who goes first.
Seems like the owner of the mailbox and the trashcan didn’t approve of their love. They are now running away together…

Seeing how the person “fixed” the mailbox at the expense of a dolly and a trash container, you have to wonder what his plans are for the step stool, gas container, and bottle of bleach in the background.

How to get rid of junk mail and recycle at the same time. Dual tasking curbs are never limited.

Call me crazy, but this seems perfectly logical for certain situations. Judging by the torn-up sandy bit of ground, his last mailbox was probably “taken out”, either by a snowplow or by a poor attempt to park his trailer (seen in the background). Either one of those things could happen again, so it only makes sense to make your mailbox mobile. All you have to do is remember to drag it out of the way before it snows.
Mailboxes must park on the other side of the street, 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. All violators will be towed.
